About

Nam Khan Riverside is a family guesthouse in a 1920s teak house on the Nam Khan river, two streets from the morning alms walk. Mrs. Keo serves sticky rice and river-weed breakfasts on the veranda, and her son Somphone guides bicycle trips to the waterfalls. The garden runs down to the water, where the bamboo bridge goes up every dry season.

Before you arrive

Can you arrange the Kuang Si waterfall trip?

Somphone runs a shared tuk-tuk to Kuang Si every day at 11:00 for USD 8 per person.

Is breakfast included?

A Lao breakfast is included, served on the veranda from 07:00 to 09:30.

Can I watch the morning alms giving from here?

The alms walk passes two streets away at about 05:30. We lend sticky rice baskets and explain the etiquette the evening before.

Do you have bicycles?

Four bicycles are free for guests. Take one from the rack by the gate.

House rules

Check-in: From 13:00. Send your arrival time on WhatsApp and Somphone meets you at the gate.
Check-out: By 11:00. We keep your bags free until the evening.
Cancellation: Free cancellation up to 7 days before arrival. Later cancellations are charged 50% of the stay.
Payment: Cash in LAK or USD on arrival. No card payments.
Children: Children under 12 stay free in the Family Room.
Pets: Small dogs are welcome in the Garden Room on request.
